Melanie and Brandon | Engagement Photoshoot in Lisbon
“I love your outfit!”
This was the first thing I told Melanie when I laid my eyes on her for the first time. That gorgeous dress immediately grabbed my attention. And so did her and Brandon’s beautiful smiles.
I soon discovered that Melanie is a designer from New York and the dress she was wearing was one of her creations. When I got back home and had the opportunity to check her brand’s website (http://www.milanenoir.com/), I was wowed by Melanie’s talent and creativity, and I also loved the concept behind her business – empowering the modern day woman. As the website says – Each Milané Noir piece is constructed to bring out the sexy and sophistication of each woman who wears it. Powerful! Although Brandon is not directly involved in the clothes design process, he’s also an important part of Milané Noir’s operations being the brand’s co-founder and Melanie’s business partner.

Brandon and Melanie are such a stylish, beautiful, loving, creative, and well-travelled couple and we had a great time with them.
Because this was their first time in Lisbon, the engagement photoshoot also served as a sort of walking tour, allowing them to explore some of the most picturesque parts of old Lisbon – Mouraria, Castelo, Alfama – while they were being photographed.
Melanie told us since the very beginning that she had in mind a non-traditional engagement photoshoot with creative images reflecting their love for each other and their passion for travel. When we discussed this concept we thought that when photographing them we should embrace Lisbon’s aesthetics and its street life by including in the frame the local characters, the narrow lanes, the street art, and other distinctive features of this unique city. For someone like Emanuele, who’s passionate about photographing the streets of Lisbon (he has a dedicated Instagram account HERE), and for me also, of course, this was an exciting thing to do.
And now, some of the photos we took! 🙂
