Ashleigh and Jim: Destination Wedding in Forte da Cruz, Estoril
After a busy and rewarding season, it’s now time to dig into our photography archives and start posting all the beautiful stories of 2019 on the blog. In this post, I’ll share the photo story of Ashleigh’s and Jim’s destination wedding in Portugal.
Ashleigh and Jim are from Northend Ireland, but they both live in Australia. They met on Tinder a few years ago and fell in love right away. More and more couples we meet and photograph nowadays meet through this app, which is cool. There was no Tinder when Romana and I met 12 years ago, but we still met online but on a flatmate search website while she was looking for a room to rent in Dublin, when we both lived in Ireland years ago. Ahh the old days 😂
Ok, back to Ashley and Jim. They’re both surfers and they couldn’t have chosen a better place than Forte da Cruz, by the beach in Estoril for their destination wedding in Portugal. Their wedding was intimate and fun, relaxed and stylish. All went smooth but during our shoot in the evening, the wind blew Ashleigh’s veil away. I loved that I was able to capture the very moment when the veil started to fly, which is probably my favorite image from this wedding. For a moment Ashleigh was (understandably) worried the veil was lost forever, but fortunately, someone on the beach caught it before it touched the water and brought it to us. Pretty cool right?
I enjoyed immensely working with this cool couple and judging by Ashleigh’s review below, it was probably a mutual feeling 🙂
“We planned our wedding in Estoril from Australia and I came across Your Story In Photos online and I’m so glad I did. Emanuele took the time to have a Skype call with us before the wedding, so we felt really comfortable on the day. Emanuele was amazing! Not pushy or bossy (like I’ve heard some photographers can be) and we’re so happy with our memories from our special day.
So glad we met you Emanuele!
All the very best to you and your family! ☘️
Love Ash and Jim xx”
