Sofia + Rui | A Maternity Shoot in the Silver Coast of Portugal |
The Silver Coast is the coastal region of Central Portugal. It includes attractions like the medieval town of Óbidos, and the fishing villages of Nazaré and Peniche. It also boasts a scenic coastline made of rocks, cliffs, long stretches of sand, and also some secluded beaches, like the one we chose for this maternity shoot with Romana’s brother Rui and his wife Sofia, a few years ago.
When we arrived at the beach, the light was still slightly harsh but the sun was low enough and we were able to start shooting immediately after our arrival. As the sun got lower, the ocean mist and the late afternoon light created a magic golden tinge. Sofia, Rui and their daughter felt very natural and comfortable throughout the session and their outfits and props were just amazing.
Nowadays most of our photoshoots are in Lisbon – nothing wrong with that, of course, but I wish we had more clients willing to explore this region with us and have their photos taken here.
